I am absolutely convinced that securing the best people possible for your organization and then providing a culture that invests and retains them is your ultimate competitive advantage. Every A player comes into their roles as a change agent. If for whatever reason the culture is not open to change, eventually they will leave because they don’t want that negative culture to change them. This HBR post is a great reminder:
“You want to be a great boss. You want your company to be a great place to work. But right now, at this very moment, one of your key employees might be about to walk out the door. She has consistently brought her best game to work and has grown into a huge asset. But her learning has peaked, her growth has stalled, and she needs a new challenge to reinvigorate her.”
