Leadership is clearly learning to walk your talk within your organizational culture. However, today the younger workforce wants to move beyond making a profit to making a difference. Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton Worldwide, “It’s really about developing a culture and creating an environment where people feel like they are part of something that is bigger than they are.” Early on, the company purpose at Disneyland was “We create happiness by providing the finest in entertainment for people of all ages, everywhere.” Referred to as “the common purpose,” rather than “the company purpose,” this slight change in wording indicates the cause is bigger than any individual or leader; it’s a purpose of the whole.”
