Church Scattered: What’s Next For Christians?

With the context of 2020 in mind, we think this election season may be coming to an end.  For half of you who are valuing politics over kingdom, you may feel like the end times are near.  The other half may think that times of spiritual blessings are finally at hand.  For anyone who has hated the people on the other side, personal conviction and chastising will be the election results for you.

As Christians place a higher priority on living out their faith in the church scattered, the integration of faith must take place in every area of your life.  This will force you to stop applying your faith only in the church gathered and demand that you integrate biblical truth in every situation.  So loving your enemies actually does apply to politicians and people that you absolutely can not stand.

We must fully understand Romans 13 to have a correct biblical worldview and realize that the Father will use whomever He allows to be in positions of authority to accomplish His divine and perfect will for His world.  His goal is not to save America but the nations.  That also must become the goal of every Christian or we will have failed in our calling to know Him and make Him known.

Our biblical responsibility as Christians is to pray for all people who are in authority regardless of how we feel about them personally.  We should be praying for blessing, redemption and restoration in their lives not the fire of judgement to consume them.

We must also own the reality that too much of this world owns us.  We are consumed with worry about things that do not matter because we have replaced the eternal with the temporary.  We have prioritized happiness over holiness and that is why we daily live with pain instead of peace.

The days ahead may be filled with more suffering and persecution.  This is exactly what Jesus said and it should comfort us to know He has promised that we will have all we need for the rest of our short journey here on this earth.

This is our time in the grand drama of redemption and restoration of all that was lost in the fall.  This is Christianity in the 21st century.
