In the midst of all the toxic drama in America today, there is still much to be thankful for. This requires us to focus on what we have, not what we want. It also requires the daily disciplines of gratitude and simple acts of kindness. As Christians we must accept that this is our time in history and we have no higher calling than to know Him and make Him known. This post by Eric Geiger is worth the read:
“To be thankful to be a Christian in America in 2019 is really to be thankful for three different things. First, and most important, it means to be thankful to be His, to have God as our Father. Second, it includes, of course, being thankful for our country the freedoms we enjoy in America. And third, it also means we are thankful for the time He has chosen for us to live and represent Him. The apostle Paul preached that “from one man he has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live” (Acts 17:26). In God’s wisdom, He has chosen for us to be where we are when we are.’
